TEXPEX SERVICE TO PHILATELY AWARD
Saturday, April 14, 2007, DoubleTree Hotel Dallas

Tonight marks the fifth consecutive year that we have presented the TEXPEX Service to Philately Award. It symbolizes a long and generous devotion to our hobby.

As the scintillating seventies began to fade away for entry into the exotic eighties, stamp prices were rocketing skyward. A local Dallas stamp club was holding one of its seminars and this energetic fellow showed up. He told everyone he wanted to become a part of that group and asked what he had to do to accomplish that.

He was at the forefront of all the club's efforts as a volunteer. He always had his heart in every effort - Dallas Stamp Day, TEXPEX, seminars . . . He always answered the call to duty. And his family worked, too.

He not only became a member of that club but served as its president. He is dependable and dedicated. Need a seminar. He'll do it. Need an exhibit. He'll do it. Need a special favor. He'll do it. And even after 30 someodd years of volunteer service in the Collector's Club of Dallas and many other stamp societies, his eys still sparkle with optimism.

Noone is more deserving of this award than the little guy with the big heart. Will Robert I. Benner please come forward to accept the 2007 TEXPEX Service to Philately Award . . .
